Sónar Festival in Barcelona, Spain
The Sónar Festival in Barcelona takes place from 15-17 June. Held since 1994, this music festival centres mainly around electronic music. The festival is divided thematically and spatially into two “complexes” for day and night events. One is about innovation and the other, of course, about good shows. Artists present classical and modern works in the areas of electronic music, multimedia art and sound art. The combination of electronic music and multimedia art is a remarkable experience for visitors and artists alike.
Roskilde Festival on the island of Zealand, Denmark
The Roskilde Festival is the oldest and largest music festival in Denmark. It takes place from 24 June to 1 July and focuses on little known Scandinavian as well as international musicians, mainly in the areas of rock, pop, metal, electronic and world music. However, some headliners are also represented – this year it will be Arcade Fire and Foo Fighters. The Roskilde Festival is also notorious for its wild camping parties.
Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium
Tomorrowland is the largest electronic music show on earth. The line-ups always include the most popular DJs on the planet and this year will feature Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Martin Garrix and Alesso. Held from 21-30 July, this music festival stands out especially for the outlandish fairyland design of the site and the stages – a sort of Wonderland for adults.

Sziget Festival in Budapest, Hungary
The Sziget has been held in summer on a small island in the Danube in Budapest since 1993. The festival is known by the Hungarian word “sziget” which means “island”. This music festival has a very varied programme. It takes place from 9-16 August. From house and techno to rock and pop and indie – it’s all there. Major artists such as Muse, Rihanna and David Guetta have already honoured the island with a visit. In 2011 and 2014, the Sziget Festival earned the coveted award of “Best European Festival”.
