Severe Storm Threat Across The Plains

By Team Morecast
27.06.2017

Severe storms will develop late Tuesday afternoon and continue into early Wednesday morning across the Plains.

A storm system will move into the Plains later today. The combination of low level moisture from the Gulf of Mexico, surface instability, upper-level support, and a strong low level jet will help aid in the development of severe storms.

Storms will develop after 4 PM CST and quickly race east into the overnight. The main hazards from these storms will be strong wind gusts up to 70 mph, hail up to 2 inches in diameter, isolated tornadoes, and localized flash flooding.
