Unpleasant Temperatures to Impact the Mid-Atlantic

By Team Morecast

Temperatures have been on the rise across the Plains and eastern United States. A large, persistent area of high pressure has been pumping in extremely warm air over the area.

**UPDATE: July 20th, 2017**
Discussion:

Temperatures are already very warm across the states but the mercury will continue to rise near record breaking. The very warm temperatures combined with dew points above 65°F will cause for unpleasant humid conditions. Heat indices will rise well above 100°F in Washington D.C, Richmond, VA region and across Philadelphia PA. Thursday and Friday will be the hottest days to prepare for. The start of the work week temperatures will start to decrease as a cold front moves through Saturday and Sunday to bring some relief to the areas.

Record Breaking Potential:

Philadelphia, PA has potential to break a record high today, July 20th. The record was set back in 1930 of 99°F. The rest of the weekend for the Philadelphia area will ‘cool’ down to lower 90s before dipping back into the 80s at the start of the work week.
